2019 Poppy Campaign

With the Dog Days of Summer over we turn our focus to November 11 and the 2019 Poppy Campaign.

Our Veterans Need Your Help. We are looking for members to work as Drivers, Mall Sitter, and Route Managers. There are over 300 positions that need filled and we can only do it with your support. Let’s not wait until the last minute, sign up now!

I would like to pass on one a quiet reminder; during your initiation/welcome ceremony, you make a declaration that you would promote the work of the organization, including active participation in the Poppy Campaign. Please fulfill your commitment. 

Contact the Branch Office and sign up or drop by and add your name to the position you want. The list is located on the tables just outside the office.

Wednesday 16 Oct @ 9:00am deliver kits to Schools, Driver & Helper.

Monday 21 Oct @ 9:30am prepare the kits for delivery to the Business sector. 

Friday 25 Oct, 9:00am driver & helper to deliver to business.

Friday Nov 1 we start manning Northgate Shopping Center, Londonderry Mall & Commerce Place.

Commerce Place 2 shifts, 2 people per shift for 6 days.

Transportation will be provided between Legion and Commerce Place.,

Driver and vehicle needed for 3 runs per day for 6 days.

Monday Oct 28 visit business to swap buckets and add poppies. This will occur Monday, Wednesday & Fridays.

Saturday, Nov 2 is Tag Day. Cadets will be Driven and Chaperoned by their Parents & Officers. This takes place at the Alberta Aviation Museum, 11410 Kingsway Ave. For more details see Ron Wills (780) 425-8654

Nov 8 Ladies Auxiliary will require 3 drivers with car to delivery the ladies to 3 locations. Canada Place, Royal Alex, & Glenrose Hospitals.

Nov 13 to 15 @ 9:00am pick up left over Poppies and Buckets from Schools & Business.

This year we have to count and process our own monies. This will take place at Norwood Legion. I have 2 volunteers and require 2 more.
